I don’t watch all that much television, but some programmes and series I do like a lot.

That includes anything from Mythbusters to Time Team, from Eureka to House, from Red Dwarf to Battlestar Galactica.

A special place in my heart, however, seems to involve strong female lead characters in adventures with humour and suspense.

The first thing that hooked me was, of course, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. There was a rerun on one of the channels we have; three episodes a week from the very first to Chosen. The whole family was obsessed.

When BtVS was over, Angle provided some solace. After a while, I discovered Xena Warrior Princess (No, Xena the cat wasn’t named for her by me; she was already called that when we got her). Some of the humorous episodes of XWP were a little stupid, though, and some of the more serious ones rather gruesome…

Veronica Mars was a very nice acquaintance as long as it lasted. It doesn’t have to be all about the fighting; it can be about attitude and smartness, too.

Then, Kim Possible got hold of me, as a sort of cartoon Buffy without the vamps and monsters (except for Gill). And with Shego, no less, as a bonus!

All that is over, though. The chances for new episodes are minimal.

So, hence my question: What on earth is there out there in the land of the small screen that I could watch?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
